New Housecoat

I made another housecoat! This time I used an original pattern from the 1940s. It was my first time ever making something from a pattern that old. I was shocked to find that the pattern pieces weren't marked! No markings at all except little perforations. The directions were a little different than modern day, too, so it was a challenge! But, it went together really well! I'm really pleased with how it turned out!

Great Work Becca! Those patterns sound really hard, I don't think I could do it.

I Love it. Love it. What fun! Do you just wear it around the house sometimes, or when? I'm still trying to figure out the proper time to wear a house coat...maybe you have to live in the city to have one, because here I'm always popping in and out, running all over the farm! :)

Hi,
Wow! I think you did an awesome job! I've looked at old pattern instructions and they are different. The fabric you picked is really cute too. Where did you get the pattern? -Annie Peterson

Oh, that looks so nice! I came into a little extra means the other day (thank you Dad!) and I am busily making my list of what to spend it on and get as much out of it as I can... and so far, most of my list is fabric! I was just thinking last night that now might be a GREAT time to find fabric and make my vintage house coat too!

I was really hoping to make something like that for getting ready before my wedding. Can you tell me what pattern it is so I can make it too? Yours is simply amazing!

Emily I'm sorry, I don't have the pattern anymore. It was a vintage pattern, and I got it through e-bay. I think I just searched "housecoat pattern" or something... Sorry, I'm not more help! There are a lot of really cute housecoat patterns out there! I'm sure if you look on E-bay you'll find something adorable! Good luck!
